My senior year, I was volunteered (thanks Coach Green) to help adults from the Al Sigl Center learn to swim. I was introduced to Melvin who had been coming for 18 years (but he'd never got his toes wet). I noticed he came to life when a fellow swimmer (Penelope) walked by (Funny, I still remember their names). Then a few weeks later, Kim Fitzgerald came in and said hello to me from across the pool. Melvin grabbed my arm (death grip) and told me how beautiful she was. I had Kim come back the next week, across the pool from us. I told him the only way he could get closer to Kim was to swim across the pool. Kim helped me for the next few weeks and Melvin slowly got in the water, started kicking and even put his face in the water just to get close to Kim. During the final class, the center's Director was told we had a huge surprise for him. Once again, Kim was across the pool as Melvin swam to her. After everyone left, the Director came up to me and asked how I got Melvin in the water, let alone swim. I laughed and said that Melvin loves beautiful women. He said "I'll be damned"...

Went to Clarkston University with many of my high school classmates. Roommates were Jim Villa and Steve Thomas. I graduated with an electrical engineering degree. I moved to Michigan where I worked 18 years in General Motors Engineering (100 hours a week). In my spare time, I attended Central Michigan University obtaining a MBA in 1983. In 1997, I moved into Labor Relations at the GM Engineering Centers where I dealt with labor contracts and strikes. I retired in 2022 with 44 years of service.
In my spare time, I coached my children's soccer teams both at home and across Europe. I started the boy's lacrosse program for my son and coached for 7 years. Raised/showed bullmastiffs for almost 20 years (maybe try 1 more). I built a few homes, enjoy landscaping and working on corvettes (hope to drive my new corvette home for the reunion).
Both of my children recently moved back to Michigan and live within a few miles of our house. Three grandkids so far: Ava (6), Vinnie (1) and Coen-James (3). Spend my days babysitting and carpooling a few times a week. All three are already looking like lacrosse/hockey players.
