It was a dark and stormy night…….one not usually conducive with the river front deck of O’Loughlin’s. The rain let up enough for Jeremy Tuke, Dave Streiff and me to consider a deck table for dinner, but the chilly damp breeze and wet tables and chairs forced us back inside to the comfort of the dining area. As the three of us were dining on nutritious meats and vegetables (ahem!) and beverages of healthy grain, Kathy Ciulla and Beth Huber White came in and took a booth opposite us for their dinner.

Thus began the flow of guests for another IHS Class of 1975 sponsored “gathering of Eagles” (INDIANS FOREVER!).

Gary Line, Cathy Caruthers, Steve Olesiuk and I, being employed by the same company, did have work discussions, but only in passing (phew!).

Nancy Noble Line was wearing a very nice gold on blue “West Irondequoit” shirt. Beth Gaylord Borelli wore, as usual, her blue on gold IHS Class of 1975 “Indians Forever” hoodie. Many others proudly displayed our official guest identification glow sticks!

Beth Gaylord Borelli, Sharon Keating Heiligman, Stu Chait, Beth Herzog, Gina Muto Lovullo, and Beth Huber White are all now or soon to be grandparents! There are others, too but my famous memory eludes me once again.

Stu Chait is enjoying his growing hobby of painting (artwork; not cars or houses!!)

Kathy Ellis Doyle, Tina Thompson Karol, Patsy McBride and Laurie Brayer Nicoles are taking a vacation together.

I hadn’t seen CO ‘74 alumnus Bruce “Duke” Austin since I lived on Charlton Rd 25 years ago, and we caught up a bit. I also got to catch up with old friends John (who left early) and Sue Ann Brown (who left late) Kawecki!

Janet Marzec Graves was able to take a break from work deadlines to join us for a nice evening. Now that her vehicle issue is cleared up and Thomas Ave is again open, may she have clear sailing for a long while!

I reminded Debbie Bailey Sheplar that we had originally met at Jeanne Traver’s 50th birthday party, and had had a good laugh together (about what, I have no idea!).

And, of course, what CO 1975 party would be complete without Kathy Gurnett Brown, Gina Muto Lovullo, Cindy Crary Groden, and Beth Herzog, along with Nigel Heaton (honorary alumnus; lucky guy!), who always brighten up our gatherings with great conversation and lots of laughs (Gina, especially, was in rare form!! LOL!!).  It’s really great to see people who have known each other since grammar school still be very close friends after all these years. I am fortunate enough to have that too!

Until next time, remember our class motto: “INDIANS FOREVER”.

Aloha! HL
