Burton, Dawn Victoria CLIFTON PARK Dawn Victoria Burton, 59, went to be in the arms of the Lord on September 21, 2016. Born in Buffalo on July 21, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Ann Burton. At age three, Dawn's family moved to Rochester where she spent her childhood. Dawn was a longtime resident of Clifton Park. Dawn was an upbeat spirit who always looked for the good in people. She was a genuine, loving, and kind person who was the first to offer help when needed. Dawn had an extraordinary ability to reach people of all ages in a deep and positive way with common sense. She was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her. She will be missed dearly by family, friends and her beloved "Maxi." Dawn built her 30 year career in healthcare services always focusing on patients, members and her clients. Her latest position was as a senior pharmacy benefits manager for United-Healthcare. Dawn excelled at helping members and clients get access to much needed prescription drug benefits for New York State Employees. She was always a mentor in her work and served as both a leader and a teacher. Dawn was so much more than a co-worker. She built a lifelong network of work friends that will always call her "Family." Her surviving family members include her sister, Susan Marie (Bob) Berres; her lifelong best friend, Paula VanDerwerken; nieces and nephews, Jonah (Mandee) Berres, Rachel Berres, David (Yvonne) Berres, Bethany Berres; and great-nieces and nephews, Tyler Jacobs, Sadie and Lincoln Berres, Kieran Berres, all of Wisconsin. Special thanks to Dr. Timmons, the staff at Woman's Cancer Care, the staff at Kingsway Home Health and the Hospice of Saratoga. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 24, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, with the Reverend Pat Butler officiating. There will be a period of greeting from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Church prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Dawn to The Make-A-Wish Foundation or Pediatric Clinic of Albany Medical Center.
