Lynd, Peter R.
Rochester: Passed away, December 2, 2008, at age 69. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward J. and A. Louise Lynd; brother, T. Murray Lynd; nephew, Kevin P. Lynd. He is survived by brothers, Edward (Kathy), Michael (Carol), John (Judy), James (Karen) and sister-in-law, Marie Lynd; several nieces, nephews, friends; especially Bill Barry and Betty Pierce.
Peter was a graduate of Springfield College. Social Studies Teacher at West Irondequoit High School for 30 years, swim coach, tennis coach, Teacher of the Year, and a long-time Section V Swim Official.
Family and friends are invited to call Friday from 3-7 PM at Miller Funeral Homes, (3325 Winton Rd. S.). Peter's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church (on the corner of Oxford St. and Monroe Ave.). Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute to Springfield College Swimming Dept. in honor of Coach Red Silvia Fund, 261 Alden St., Springfield, MA 01109-1797 or the Blessed Sacrament Supper Program, 259 Rutgers St., Rochester NY 14607.
