So sorry to hear about Wayne. I had some fond memories of him during high school and we still chatted a lot when I used to see him here and there in later years in Irondequoit.

My oldest (and perhaps fondest) memory of Wayne was when we were in first grade at Brookview Elementary School. I lived on Miller Lane and Wayne lived on Angora Drive. We had a talent show for our parents and Wayne decided to create a "band" lip syncing to Kicks by Paul Revere and the Raiders. I can't remember the other guys in the band but the adults loved it. Wayne was a forward thinker and liked doing things that pushed the limits. He had a great spirit for sure.

I have so many memories of Wayne, I don't know where to begin.  He taught me how to play the guitar, although, I never reached his level of standards.   But he was patient and kind with me.  He introduced me to a whole other level of music.  The two I remember most vividly were Yes and Genesis.  He "heard" their music like no other.  When I mastered my "chords" he taught me how to pick and the first song was "Round About" by Yes.  I can still play parts of it today.  I desperately wanted to play Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young music but Wayne pushed the alternative.  We had a great relationship.  We had fun.  Those were the days.  Days gone by.   Wayne asked me to the senior prom.  For selfish reasons, I declined.  He took someone else, and I realized my mistake. We remained friends after high school but when I left Rochester, I lost touch with him as I have with so many people.  I tried to find him on social media and the internet a few years ago.  He was someone that I never forgot, even after all of these years.  But my search was unsuccessful.  And now I know why.  After hearing of his heartbreaking journey these past couple of decades, I am even more remorseful that I didn't try harder to find him.  I should have asked around.  I would have liked to have told him what he truly meant to me in high school and beyond.  Whenever I hear certain music, I am always reminded of him....hence my reason for trying to find him.   RIP dear Wayne.  Heaven is rejoicing in your music!

When I moved from California to Rochester, Wayne, Greg Muto & John Ciufo were the first friends I made.  I have a lot of warm and funny memories of all three.  We started a "band", and spent many cold nights walking home together from the teen center.  One of my fondest memories is when Wayne and I spent a day at his parents cottage in Sodus Bay.  We had a great time fishing, drinking cold beer and snacking on the fish we caught that was cooked by his father.

I am sorry that we lost touch after high school.

Wayne was a good friend and I send my warmest sympathies to his family.

I will never forget playing tennis with Wayne.John Ciufo.and Mark Birhnbaum behind Rogers school. It was one of the most  competitive and fun times I can remember. It was always John and Me vs Mark and Wayne.Wayne was the best player of the group and John was the most emotional player I ever played with. The guy broke at least 7 rackets. We had to keep going back to Western auto to replace them'He kept telling the lady they broke while he was playing. He would smash them after a close loss.Wayne and John will be Missed.

Seeing Wayne's passing brought back a few memories for me as well.  While at Brookview in one of the earlier grades Wayne and I would play hot wheels at each others houses seemingly for hours...Wayne always liked to set up spectacular crashes.  Later in 4th grade Wayne and I were selected for Safety Patrol.  During the time we were up in front of the school being presented as the new kids, Wayne kept whispering silly jokes to me to the point I could not keep it together getting us both in big trouble!  :)  Rest in Peace Wayne

Wayne and I also played Tennis in gym class and we laughed because we called each other "John" and "Chris".  If you know tennis you know who we were talking about.  Wayne was a very kind person and always had a sincere smile.  He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him and call h a friend.  RIP Wayne. 😢

Wayne was a great guy...a friend to all. I got to know Wayne more in our senior year. He was dating Claudia Mascini, one of our foreign exchange students, who was a friend of mine.  So we got to hang out a little bit.  Such a sweet guy. He will be missed be everyone who knew him. RIP WAYNE!!!

I have no words to express how saddened I was to hear such sad news. I completely agree with all the sentiments spoken about Wayne. You touched everyone who was fortunate enough to have known you. May you rest in God's glory my friend until we meet again.
