Beth Anne Silver, age 69, of Falls Church, Virginia died on September 18th, 2026 at her home in the City of Falls Church.
Born on March 20th, 1957 in Rochester, New York to Harold Silver and Evelyn Chadwick Silver, Beth graduated Cornell University with a B.S. degree, moved to Arlington, Virginia in 1983, and had a long career in finance and accounting with USA Today, Time-Life Video & Television, Discovery, and capped by 16 years as Executive Director for Temple Rodef Shalom in Falls Church, Virginia.
Beth married Adam Louis Gruen on June 19, 1994 at Temple Rodef Shalom and together they moved to their home in the City of Falls Church. Their daughter Evelyn Margaret Gruen was born on December 16, 1998.
Beth became Executive Director of the Temple in 2004 and retired at the end of 2020. She shepherded the grounds and facility through several expansions, directed building security and maintenance, modernized telecommunications, provided executive oversight for the directors of several Temple schools, helped lead many Temple trips to Israel and other locations in Europe, coordinated countless events, and was always on-call to handle a crisis. Her attention to detail was legendary. A cool-weather girl at heart, her favorite vacation was to escape to the shores of Lake Ontario and to visit family and friends in Rochester and Syracuse NY. She also enjoyed cruises and sight-seeing. She was a voracious reader of e-books and loved watching movies and series. Most of all she loved being a mom to Evelyn, and seeing and hosting friends and family.
Beth is survived by her husband Adam Gruen and daughter Evelyn Gruen, her sisters Meg Silver (Jim Nicoll) and Donna Breazzano (John) and brother Michael Silver (Debbie), nephews Adam Breazzano (Amanda), Steven Breazzano (Sarah LeBoeuf), and Mark Breazzano (Julia), niece Kayleigh Longinotti-Kilbury (Jeremy), and several great-nephews and great-nieces. Beth was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Evelyn.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, instead contributions be made to the Temple Rodef Shalom Silver Fund for Torah Restoration created by the temple to honor Beth upon her retirement.

I don't believe I saw Beth after high school. It seems so hard to believe it's been over 50 years(Does anyone else feel that way?). It sounds like she had a great life and was a productive member of society. Rest in peace and condolences to her family.

Beth, Donna and I spent many Sunday afternoons together after Religious School and I have the fondest memories of those times. I'm very sorry to hear that Beth has left her family too soon. Sending warm embraces to all the family as I join them in mourning her passing. May her memory be a blessing and a comfort to all who knew her. ♥️💔♥️

I noticed that both Beth and Donna were in our 1975 yearbook... does anyone know if they were identical twins or fraternal twin twins?

So sad to hear of the passing of Beth. Especially knowing both Beth and Donna since our Briarwood days. Prayers for the family.
