Pat D'Ambrosia (Teacher -Gym)

Patricia Rose D'Ambrosia (Pfeiffer)

Irondequoit - Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph Anthony D'Ambrosia. She is survived by her son, Joseph Arthur D'Ambrosia, and his wife, Lisa Shivak; granddaughter, Maia D'Ambrosia; brother, Elliott Pfeiffer and his wife Ann; nephew, Andrew Pfeiffer; and many, many close friends and relatives.

A professional diver in her younger years, Pat went on to an accomplished career as a teacher, coach and fitness professional. "Mrs. D" is fondly remembered as an outstanding teacher at Franklin High School, Brockport College and West Irondequoit HS, where she received Teacher of the Year honors and which she retired from in 1989. She was a championship coach in Cheerleading and Track & Field as well as a director/choreographer of many musicals and swim shows. In her "retirement" Pat went on to open her own business, Walk In Work Out, where she continued to inspire every person to reach their individual potential. This very positive and personal approach culminated with a decade-long finishing touch to her career as the group fitness director at Harro East Athletic Club.

Patty D was passionate about her family, her many friends, her colleagues and her life's work of teaching, coaching and fitness.

Pat's incredible spirit, bountiful energy, devotion to education and love of life enriched all fortunate enough to know her.

Her family will receive friends Sunday 1-5pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S.). Friends are invited to meet the family Monday 9:30am at St. Kateri at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (4536 St. Paul Blvd.) for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. She was a great coach and an awesome strong woman role model for those of us on the squad! http://harrisfuneralhome.com/tribute/details/2723/Patricia-D-Ambrosia/obituary.html#content-start

My sister and I are years apart, so I knew Pat as a little girl when my sister was doing swim shows for her, and then I worked under her as a dancer in musicals.   Great lady!
